SUSTAINABLE food goal
As part of our environmental stewardship efforts, Kaiser Permanente aims to buy all of its food locally or from farms and producers that use sustainable practices by 2025.
Better food practices will help us combat climate change. The production, processing, packaging, distribution, consumption and waste of food contribute to our overall carbon footprint. Kaiser Permanente is engaging in sustainable food practices, which include:
- Purchasing sustainable items
- Supporting over 55 farmers markets
- Participating in the Plant Power Challenge
